Cascadia Groove

Cascadia Groove is a group of highly experienced musicians playing a mix of original funky, danceable jazz tunes along with unique versions of memorable covers from Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Average White Band, Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, and many others that fit this exciting musical genre.

The group has been a Featured Artist at the Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival, Bake's Place Bar and Bistro, Anacortes Arts Festival, and many other music festivals and events in the Greater Puget Sound area, performing their upbeat original material and stylized contemporary covers that have a unique, signature crossover sound.

2022 Washington Blues Society Hall of Fame inductee, CD Woodbury is “the NW’s best kept secret” as an internationally recognized rising star of the Pacific NW blues scene with his work as singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Two studio albums, “Monday Night!” and "World's Gone Crazy" charted on international independent radio. CD Woodbury has thirteen Best of the Blues awards from the Seattle based Washington Blues Society including performer of the year, songwriter, NW recording, new blues band, and is (at the time of this writing) the only six time winner for electric blues guitar.

Seattle native Danny Quintero has shared the stage with many high-profile musicians. His keen ear for subtle nuances of the Sinatra school of 'Bel Canto' singing-articulation, phrasing, dynamics, and breath control have brought a fresh, likable, and personalized approach to the Great American Songbook. He makes appearances on radio stations and at Jazz clubs throughout the Pacific Northwest, and has performed with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra at Benaroya Hall.


Darren Motamedy

Sax legend Darren Motamedy returns this year to grace our Lake Chelan shores with his remarkable talent! This incredible musician songwriter and educator has eleven popular albums. Hear him once and you’ll know why he’s an icon in smooth jazz circles and a fan favorite for over 35 years.

Dmitri Matheny

Winner of NW Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year honors in the Seattle Earshot Golden Ear Awards, flugelhornist Dmitri Matheny has been lauded as “one of the most emotionally expressive improvisers of his generation” (International Review of Music). An honors graduate of Berklee College of Music, Dmitri Matheny vaulted onto the jazz scene in the 1990s as the protégé of jazz legend Art Farmer.

Since then he has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal international following, releasing twelve CDs and touring extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. The San Francisco Chronicle calls Matheny “one of the jazz world’s most talented horn players.”

DoctorfunK was established in 1995 and has set the standard for new soul music in the Pacific Northwest. Echoing the legendary passion of famed horn band Tower of Power and that "Bay Area Sound," this 10-piece ensemble has maintained the tradition and more.


Ellensburg Big Band

Founded in 2011, the Ellensburg Big Band is an 18 member classic Swing Jazz Band in the tradition of the wonderful dance bands of the 1940’s and 50’s.  Featuring favorites from the Glen Miller and Count Basie Bands, they also play a wide variety of jazz standards and modern styles.  The musicians hail from the Ellensburg community and beyond, and include many regional music educators, CWU music students, and a colorful bunch of professionals all of whom treasure the opportunity to make terrific music together.

FRANCESCO CROSARA

Francesco Crosara is a Seattle based Italian jazz pianist, composer and educator performing in a variety of formations. Crosara’s original music melds an impressive mix of jazz improvisation, a romantic vein from his classical Conservatory training in Rome, bouncy lyrical expression along with strong Latin influences. His main jazz piano influences are Chick Corea, Bill Evans,Keith Jarrett, and Herbie Hancock.


Greta Matassa

Greta Matassa won wide acclaim in the Pacific Northwest; 8 times, the readers of Earshot, the Seattle Jazz magazine, have voted her the best jazz vocalist in the Northwest, including in 2021!

Her 40-year career has been a whirlwind of exciting opportunities and experiences. She was inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame in 2014. Over the last 20 years, she has become established as one of the greatest jazz singers of her time. Working with top jazz musicians in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. In 2016 She was featured with bassist John Clayton’s group in a centennial tribute to Ella Fitzgerald.

She has recorded 11 CD’s. Her latest release “Portrait” on Origin Records is receiving rave reviews.

Jake Bergevin

Song stylist, trumpeter, bandleader, and educator Jake Bergevin has recorded two albums as leader and has been a featured artist with diverse groups such as the Spokane Symphony, Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, the Tacoma Symphony, the Spokane Jazz Orchestra, and the Usual Suspects Big Band and many many more. 

Leading groups like the Javatown Swing Orchestra and the Jazz Punishments Big Band, he celebrates the American Popular Song with many of Seattle’s top players as well as up-and-coming young lions.

Lake Chelan Jazz Band

The Lake Chelan Jazz Band has been performing in the Chelan area for the past 13 years. Their style is popular standards, and maybe a few surprises! 

All five musicians are local and contribute in various ways to our beautiful community.

Saxophonist and flutist Mark Lewis has enlivened jazz scenes from Seattle and San Francisco to Rotterdam and Paris and has created a vast and intensely stimulating body of music, including more than 1,700 compositions. 

He has a new album of original work just out, “Sunlight Shines In,” and he’ll be performing selections at the festival. His last album, “Naked Animals,” was chosen in the Cadence Magazine Top 10 Critic’s Poll for 2021 and had been playing on the cable TV Music Choice jazz channel. It earned stellar reviews in English, Dutch and Japanese.

His voice has been favorably compared to many artists, including Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Bobby Caldwell, Sam Cooke, and others. After over 40 years of performing, Michael has found his own voice and style, just a synthesis of everything he has listened to, absorbed, and loved!

Sarah Shea and her Chez Jazz combo perform a variety of songs from the American Songbook, including favorites by Gershwin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nora Jones, Etta James & Peggy Lee. With an elegant classic style Romantic songs, Scat and the Blues are her speciality.

As a mother of a young child, Sarah also has a special interest in Jazz for children and is writing her own original music in this genre.

Sarah Shea has a bachelor’s degree in music from Eastern Washington University.


Scott Lindemuth Band

Scott Lindenmuth is a guitarist with few boundaries. Whether performing with his contemporary instrumental group the Scott Lindenmuth Group, playing jazz standards and originals with the Scott Lindenmuth Trio, or performing as a solo classical guitarist, Lindenmuth is expanding his reputation as a cutting edge composer, creative and intuitive improviser, and master technician. 

A master of many styles Seattle guitarist Scott Lindenmuth is one of the few guitarists in the world today that can easily transition from jazz to electric blues, classical to rock, funk, and fusion displaying fluid technique and virtuosic ability in all genres. His list of influences range from Jimi Hendrix to Wes Montgomery, Andres Segovia to Pat Metheny.


stephanie porter

“A long-gigging jazz singer” (excerpt by The Seattle Times), Stephanie Porter has performed at just about every club, festival, arena, and theater in the PNW. She has received an Earshot Golden Ear Award for top vocalist. That evening Earshot's Director mentioned it was the year of "The Peoples Choice."

In the 1990's Stephanie was an early member of Hit Explosion, one of the most popular Dance Party Bands on the West Coast. During that time, the band opened for Chaka Khan, Kansas, Cameo, Michael McDonald, Glenn Frey, and many others.

Stephanie will be joined by her longtime band: Steve Yusen on drums, Michael Barnett on bass, and Tony Foster on piano.


The New Triumph

The New Triumph is a multigenerational, multiracial ensemble comprised of some of the best musicians in Seattle's thriving music scene. They draw from these varied perspectives to provide a unique, energetic, and danceable mix of Afro- Latin, Funk, and Jazz. Their inspirations include Snarky Puppy, Herbie Hancock Headhunters, and Irakere.
